FIFA President Gianni Infantino expressed his wishes to former Indian Women’s Team captain and ‘Durga of Indian Football’ Oinam Bembem Devi, on the latter’s birthday; Bembem celebrated her 42nd birthday on Monday, April 4.
In a letter to AIFF, the FIFA President expressed his admiration and gratitude to Bembem for her contribution to women’s football.
“Congratulations for your birthday! May this special day bring you happiness, health and success, both personally and professionally,” wrote Mr. Infantino. “In this FIFA World Cup year, I am most appreciative of your support and collaboration in making this tournament such a successful and unique event, carrying a message of hope, unity and solidarity.”
“I wish you a wonderful day with your loved ones, and I sincerely hope we will continue to work together for the development and growth of this beautiful game that unites us all,” he further stated.
