FIFA Women’s Administrative Workshop concludes!

FIFA - AIFF - Ebru Koksal - Kushal DasThe four-day FIFA Women’s Football Administrative Course, which kicked-off at the AIFF Headquarters in the Capital on August 16, 2016, concluded yesterday, August 19.

The Course not only acted as a value addition to the AIFF Women’s League Workshop, which was conducted on July 05, to bolster the successful launch of the National Women’s League, which is slated to kick-off later this year, but helped the participants to evolve in subjects pertaining to Administration in Women’s Football.

All India Football Federation General Secretary Kushal Das dubbed the Workshop as “helpful in our quest to launch the Women’s League.”

“It was a wonderful Workshop and the fact that it was interactive made it interesting.”

“We have great plans for Women’s Football and that includes launching the Women’s League. Our ambition is to see that the Indian Women’s National Team plays at the grand stage of the FIFA Women’s World Cup as soon as possible.”

“It is important for all the clubs and teams to work towards the development of women’s football as well”, the AIFF General Secretary informed.

FIFA Development Officer Shaji Prabhakaran, who was also present on the occasion said, “The Workshop provides a unique opportunity for the participants to learn from one of the best in the business.”

“The participants are fortunate to get an Instructor like Ebru and if they implement what they have learnt, Women’s Football in the Nation will certainly grow.”

“We need to strive towards Women’s empowerment and see more participation of Women when it comes to Football,” Shaji stated.

“The participants also need to be proactive and help extend the barriers of Women’s Football in India.”

Turkey’s Ebru Koksal, who was the Instructor of the aforementioned Course, praised the enthusiasm of the participants over four days and said, “It has been four days of quality interaction with the participants, and I laud their enthusiasm for the Course”

“They have certainly made sure that I felt their passion towards development of Women’s Football.”

“If everything falls into place and works accordingly to plan, Women’s Football in India can reach the zenith of Women’s Football”, she informed.

Meanwhile, Akansha Singh, current Captain of the Indian Women’s Basketball Team came to interact with the participants of the FIFA Women’s Football Administrative Course as part of the Women in Leadership topic for the Course and shared her story.
