Earlier in the day, the latest FIFA ‘Coca Cola’ Men’s World Ranking were released by the world football governing body and in the August rankings, India gained a sport as joint 96th position with Georgia behind Uzbekistan, but ahead of Qatar; while FIFA World Cup winners France are the new No. 1.
India have 350 points, the same as last month and they stay in 14th position of the Asian (AFC) rankings.
India are next to play in the fall FIFA match dates with matches set for October and November.
In South Asia, India remain in top spot ahead of Afghanistan (145th), Maldives (150th), Nepal (161st), Bhutan (183rd), Bangladesh (194th), Sri Lanka (200th) and Pakistan (201th) in what was another mixed month for the region.
There were multiple changes across the top 5. FIFA World Cup winners France (1,726 pts) are the new top side ahead of Belgium (1,723 points) who swap places with Brazil (1,657 points), while Croatia (1,643 pts) are new fourth gaining 16 spots while Uruguay (1,627 pts) gain nine spots, who complete the top five.
