First round of DFB German Cup scheduled!

The German Football Association (DFB) has scheduled the first DFB Cup round of the 2022/23 season in coordination with their TV partners.

There are 30 matches scheduled for the last weekend in July, and two more games will be played at the end of August. On Friday, July 29 (from 8.45pm), ZDF will broadcast the duel between third division club 1860 Munich and runners-up Borussia Dortmund. As usual, Sky broadcasts all 32 games of the first round of the cup live.

The first main round will open on Friday, July 29 (from 6pm, live on Sky) with three games: Oberliga club TSG Neustrelitz has second division Karlsruher SC as guests, regional division club 1.FC Kaan-Marienborn 07 meets second division club 1.FC Nürnberg and third division club SG Dynamo Dresden to Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart. Second division club 1.FC Magdeburg and UEFA Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt conclude the first cup weekend on Monday, August 1 (from 8.45pm, live on ARD and Sky).

Two current title holders complete the first round: On Tuesday, August 30 (from 8.45pm, live on ZDF and Sky), regional league club FC Teutonia 05 Ottensen welcomes cup winners RB Leipzig. On Wednesday, August 31 (from 8.45pm, live on ARD and Sky), third division club FC Viktoria Köln and champions FC Bayern Munich will decide who will be the last club to advance to the second round of the cup.
