Football Association of Odisha hold their 2022 AGM!

The 2022 Annual General Meeting of the Football Association of Odisha (FAO) was held on Sunday, November 6 at the Meeting Hall (Horse Gate) of OOA, Barabati Stadium in Cuttack.

The meeting was presided by FAO president Debasish Samantaray.

In the beginning a minute condolence was observed as a mark of respect to all the departed players, administrators and members of the Football Association of Odisha. After brief discussion over proceedings of the last AGM, the Secretary’s Report, Audited Statement and Budget were confirmed in the house.

It was also resolved in the meeting1 that various junior age group tournaments are to be introduced to promote football in the state at grassroots level.

It was decided in the1 meeting that t1he Inter District Championship for Senior Men for Sahani Cup 2022 will be organized at Phulbani district & Boudh district in the month of December. Similarly the Inter District Senior Women Championship for P.C Behera Trophy will be organized in the month of December-January.

It was declared that Odisha Women’s League 2022-23 is going to start from November 15 at the Capital Ground and Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.

FAO honorary secretary Asirbad Behera informed that the Sports & Y.S. department of the Government of Odisha had extended all possible helps and assistance in terms of Development of Football and also they have assured the support & assistance will also be provided to FA Odisha in future in terms of Coaching, Competition and development.

FAO president Debasish Samantaray and FAO honorary secretary Asirbad Behera thanked the All India Football Federation for choosing FAO joint secretary Avijit Paul in the Committee of Administrators and choosing six (6) other Odisha administrators to be a part of various committees.

FAO joint secretary Avijit Paul given a vote of thanks to the President, Secretary and all the members of FAO for consistently supporting him throughout. He also promised to development football in the state as well as the country as he has become the chairman of the Development Committee of AIFF.

The Office Bearers and members of Football Association of Odisha expressed their sincere gratitude to Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik, Tusharkanti Behera (Odisha minister of Sports & Y S), R Vineel Krishna I.A.S. (commissioner cum Secretary, Sports & Y S Deptt), and the Sports & Y S Deptt for their kind support and patronage they had extended in the recent past for the development of Football in the state.

The other dignitaries who were present in the meeting were Dr. Srikara Mishra (working president – FAO), Bijaya Das, Basanta Ku. Panigrahi; Rajendra Kumar Mohanty; Pradeep Kumar Das; Hrudaya Ranjan Behera; Rabi Naryan Panda; Mr Dillip Kumar Sahoo (Vice Presidents – FAO) along with many members of FAO.

In the end FAO treasurer Bhakta Ballav Das gave the Vote of Thanks.
