Fortuna Düsseldorf buy striker Christos Tzolis!

Good news for all Fortuna Düsseldorf fans: Bundesliga 2 top scorer Christos Tzolis will continue to be a member of the playing squad. After the Greek went on loan to Düsseldorf this season, he will be signed permanently on July 1, 2024. In order to realize this, the Flingerans have now exercised the purchase option agreed with Norwich City FC.

The 22-year-old Greek international has played an outstanding season in Düsseldorf under head coach Daniel Thioune. In 37 competitive appearances, the left winger scored 24 goals and provided ten assists. Tzolis came to Fortuna from the English second division, the Championship, just under a year ago. He started his career at PAOK Thessaloniki.

Klaus Allofs, Board Member for Sport & Communication at Fortuna Düsseldorf, said, “We have exercised the agreed purchase option for Christos Tzolis at Norwich City. This is a good moment for Fortuna, but without becoming too euphoric. The contract, which was negotiated a year ago, could only be concluded with one restriction. For example, an exit clause is included with the possibility for the player to change clubs again in the course of the upcoming transfer period under certain conditions.”
