German Cup: Amateur clubs look forward to welcome Bundesliga sides in Round 1!

DFB Pokal NEUThe draw for the first round of the German Cup (DFB Pokal) 2016/17 was held last night with the draw carried out by DFB president Reinhard Grindel and UEFA U-17 Women’s Cup winner Caroline Siems.

Defending champions Bayern Munich have to travel to the east to fourth division side Carl Zeiss Jena, while finalists Borussia Dortmund travel to another fourth division side Eintracht Trier, where BVB has lost cup matches in the past.

The lowest division sides are from league six with FC Villingen hosting Bundesliga side Schalke 04, while BFC Preussen Berlin face another Bundesliga side in 1.FC Köln.
