The German Football Academy – India is working on plans to launch its first residential academy in Kerala’s Wayanad later this year.
The German Football Academy was started with the aim of enabling children the chance to play football at its centres across India. Thereafter the GFA has worked to give children the chance to pick football as a career.
And that step is being strengthened with the first GFA residential Academy, which is being set-up in Kerala’s Wayanad with local partners.
For the German Football Academy the residential academy project comes after a tie-up with Germany-based Soccer City e.V. to enable Indian children the chance to train and play in one of the most developed football nations in Germany.
Amongst other achievements since its foundation, cadets of the GFA have made it into the I-League while other kids have had extended training opportunities in Europe.
German Football Academy co-founder Krish Roy said, “For us at the GFA this is a great development. We want to create opportunities for children to play football and look to make it a career.”
“This is another step in building a pathway for children through our GFA system.”
