German Football Ambassador launches “Women.Football.Global.” action year!

The non-profit association German Football Ambassadors e.V. starts the campaign year “Women.Football.Global.”

Numerous measures are planned for the campaign year. These range from a nomination and selection phase for the German Football Ambassador 2023 to a professional discourse on social development opportunities through women in football during the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. These measures are carried out in coordination with the most important strategic partners such as the Federal Foreign Office, the Goethe Institute or Common Goal.

In order to ensure professional quality at the highest level, the association puts together a competent team with a wealth of experience. The first names from the circle of the football ambassador family are: football pioneer Monika Staab (winner of the main prize in 2014), who has worked in over 80 countries and is currently building up women’s football in Saudi Arabia; Doris Fitschen (member of the advisory board), four-time European champion and currently responsible for women’s football at the DFB, or Anja Zivkovic, the German Football Ambassador for 2020.

“It is the logical continuation of our ten-year commitment to more equal opportunities in football, which we would like to crown with this concerted campaign in the World Cup year,” said President Roland Bischof during his recent visit to the DFB German Women’s national team training camp in Andalusia, Spain.
