German Women’s Cup (DFB-Pokal der Frauen) Round of 16 draw carried out!

The DFB-Pokal der Frauen (German Women’s Cup) Round of 16 (Pre-Quarterfinals) draw took place on Sunday, September 18. The draw was carried out by former Germany international Didi Hamann.

The draw for the women’s DFB German Women’s Cup has resulted in some attractive duels. Among other things, there will be a new edition of last year’s round of sixteen between TSG Hoffenheim and Bayer 04 Leverkusen. Series winner and defending champion VfL Wolfsburg, who has now won the cup eight times in a row, is a guest at the second division club 1.FC Nürnberg, FC Bayern Munich travels to Bundesliga promoted MSV Duisburg.

In a duel of second division clubs between FC Carl Zeiss Jena and SC Sand at least one lower-class club will move into the quarterfinals. The other remaining second division club RB Leipzig has Eintracht Frankfurt as a guest. Last year’s finalist 1.FFC Turbine Potsdam can look forward to a home game against 1.FC Köln, SGS Essen and Werder Bremen as well as SC Freiburg and SV Meppen will also meet.

The Round of 16 matches will be played on November 19/20. The quarterfinals are scheduled for February 28 and March 1, 2023. The semifinal matches will take place on April 15/16, 2023, the final at the Rhein-Energie-Stadion in Cologne will take place on May 18, 2023.
