Goa Football Development Council opens its 38th football development centre in Divar!

GFDC - DivarThe Goa Football Development Council opened its 38th football development centre in Divar.

Speaking on the occasion Alexio da Costa, GFDC Member Secretary, assured the young trainees of the commitment GFDC has with starting from grassroots training aged 6 years and leading to youth training with avenues for academy training.

Addressing the gathering GFDC Chairman Dr. Rufino Monteiro expressed his happiness with the opening of GFDC grassroot football centre in Divar which has immense talent and hoped the trainees would fulfill the dream of our ex-CM Mr. Parrikar to develop football in Goa. He urged children to be committed to attend the sessions regularly and develop passion for the game and derive inspiration from Pele, whose movie has been screened recently.

The Chief Guest on the occasion was MLA of Cumbarjua constituency, Pandurang Madkaikar and he congratulated GFDC led by Chairman Dr. Rufino Monteiro and Member Secretary Alexio da Costa for the tremendous work done at various centres across the state and urged children to take up this opportunity and bring laurel to the country state and in Divar.

Among the dignitaries present were Fr. Francis Pereira, Asst. Parish Priest; Allen D’Sa – Superintendent of Police, Beato D’Mello, President of PYA; Joseph Aguair, Administrator of PYA; and Prakash Pereira, Founder Member of PYA.
