Goa Pro League: Confident Sporting Clube de Goa take on FC Bardez!

sporting-goa-practiceNewcomers FC Bardez will host Sporting Clube de Goa in a high octane Goa Pro League Clash on Tuesday evening at the Duler Stadium in Mapusa. Sporting Goa come into this match on the back of a 2–2 draw against Guardian Angel SC.

Speaking to the media Sporting Goa head coach Mateus Costa said, “We have to keep winning, there is no other result which can make us feel better.”

He further added, “The league is very competitive any points lost by us now can change the way we finish towards the end, we have been playing some good football and we intend to continue doing the same.”

Speaking about the wasted chances in the previous match Costa said, “We cannot keep missing sitters, last time it was our game to lose. We have been exceptionally creative in the midfield, we play attacking football but somehow the finishing hasn’t been at par. We have worked on the same and will avoid making those mistakes again.”

Sporting Goa had a few nervous moments in their previous game where they lost out on making the numerous opportunities count while Guardian Angel took a lead towards the closing stages. It took some swift play from Joseph Pereira and a bull’s eye precision from the teams Ghanaian centre forward Francis Dadzie who rescued the Panjim side with a last minute equaliser.

Speaking about the opponents Gaffer Costa said, “We are playing them for the first time; they have a decent side and a good manager. We have done our home work; no doubts, you can expect a good match on Tuesday.”

Sporting Goa will miss the services of their defender Ponif Vaz who is out due to a suspension after picking a red card in the previous match, while the rest of the squad is fully fit and available for selection.
