Goa Youth League’s: U-14 & U-16 Leagues matches held!

Besides the senior leagues the Goa Football Association also organises regular leagues for youth teams across the season. Currently ongoing are the GFA Under-14 and Under-16 Leagues.

U-14 League

Dempo SC thumped Fr Agnel Pilar in the Goa Football Association’s U-14 League match played at Pilar ground, on Saturday.
In an one-sided affair Dwayne Neto opened the account for the young Golden Eagles in the 24th minute as he calmly placed the ball past the rival keeper.
Fr Agnel managed to hold off the Dempo SC side for a while until first half as the winners led 1-0 at break.
Post resumption, Dwayne went on to complete his brace in the 40th minute and went on to complete his hat-trick in the 45th minute before coring his fourth goal in the 63rd minute while Shreyash Naik scored a hat-trick, netting a goal each in the 44th, 53rd and 58th minutes respectively.
Shenoy Colaco, Rohit Shirodkar and Atmaram Jhadav scored a goal each for the winners in the 55th, 65th and 66th minutes, respectively.
In another match at Chicalim Panchayat ground, Cortalim Gymkhana scored an easy 3-0 win over United Youth Club of Bogmalo 3-0.
Telson Pereira scored just before the breather to give the Cortim side the desired advantage.
Post resumption, Rohan Payeng netted twice for Cortalim Gymkhana, once, in the 39th and again in the 57th minutes respectively to take home all three points.
Elsewhere at Betalbatim ground, Betalbatim Sports Club defeated Benfica YC 2-0.
Christ Rebello scored the first goal for the home side in the 10th minute while Jonathan Fernandes netted the secon after the breather in the 67th minute to take the tally to 2-0.

U-16 League
Meanwhile in the Goa Football Association’s U-16 League match played at Ambelim ground, Sirlim Sports Club scored a narrow victory over Pax of Nagoa 2-1.
Sirlim SC’s Delzan scored the first goal of the match in the 7th minute before Jonas Colaco (24′) netted for Pax of Nagoa to make it all square.
The teams went into the breather with the scores tied 1-1.
Post resumption, either of the sides restricted their gameplay to the midfield area but Pax of Nagoa were caught by surprise at the fag end of the match as Jolan Simoes scored the winner for Sirlim SC in the 77th minute.
