Gokulam Kerala FC sign goalkeeper Shayan Roy!

Gokulam Kerala FC have bolstered the squad by adding another goalkeeper in Shayan Roy for the upcoming 2020/21 I-League season.

Shayan Roy, who is from Kolkata, started his career with the All Indian Football Federation developmental side Pailan Arrows and has played for a number of clubs such as Minerva Punjab FC, Punjab FC, Mohammedan Sporting Club, Delhi Dynamos, Odisha FC, and TRAU FC.

“I am happy to sign for Gokulam Kerala FC. Like Kolkata, Kerala is also known for football and it would be a great pleasure to play in front for Kerala fans. I have come to Kozhikode, a couple of times and the atmosphere at EMS Corporation stadium was simply astounding,” said Shayan Roy.

“I have watched Shayan Roy since Pailan Arrows Days (2011). This Bengal-born custodian has an imposing figure to intimidate opposing forwards, commanding aerial prowess and blessed with dramatic reflex action saves. This ‘Lad from the Land of Spiderman’ will not only be a great asset for our club but also a great competitor to our current first-choice goal keeper Ubaid C.K,” said Ashok Kumar, CEO, Gokulam Kerala FC.

“Shayan Roy comes with ample experience and it would be great to see him in Gokulam’s colours this season. The squad depth has increased and we hope to have a fantastic season ahead with players like Shayan,” said Gokulam Gopalan, the chairman of Gokulam Kerala FC.
