Hertha BSC announce three positive COVID-19 cases!

Three more individuals within the Hertha BSC first-team set-up and coaching staff have tested positive for COVID-19. The individuals in question have been isolated and are now in quarantine. All three are asymptomatic. The three individuals affected are head coach Pál Dárdai, assistant coach Admir Hamzagić and striker Dodi Lukébakio. As he has been in close contact with those affected, assistant coach Andreas Neuendorf is also in quarantine, but is displaying no symptoms.

Sporting director Arne Friedrich will take charge of the team and training for the time being, having completed his DFB ‘A’ level coaching license.

After discussions with the health authority in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, the players, coaching team and staff who work closely with the side will all go into isolation. All those involved will stay in shared accommodation until April 28, only leaving for training and matches, meaning the club can still train and play games.

“After conversations with our hygiene officers in the last international break, we had already increased the measures we were taking, including daily quick tests before they were made compulsory by the DFL. Due to the cases now, we have to isolate. We will be able to stay as safe as possible with limited contact and daily PCR tests. We will accept this challenging situation as a team and do all we can to be successful in our coming games,” said sporting director Arne Friedrich.
