The Hummel-made new SC Freiburg home kit for the 2017/18 season had its first outing on the last match day of the 2016/17 Bundesliga season against FC Ingolstadt.
To finish the season, SC Freiburg together with kit supplier hummel presented another special highlight: The new SC Freiburg home kit was finally here and showed the club’s connection with the city of Freiburg and the entire Black Forest region in every fibre.
The classic red and black kit captivates with its numerous regionally focused details: The Black Forest silhouette is sublimated in dark red and covers the player’s chest and the inside of the shirt’s collar has a stylised city map designed by hummel designer Martin Davis to symbolise the city of Freiburg. The year the club was founded is printed on the inner hem. Its design is based on the pavements in Freiburg city centre, and it represents the long-standing bond between the club and city. The club meanwhile is not only represented by the sewn on SC logo on the left side of the chest above the heart, but also by SC’s heraldic animal, the griffin, which is elegantly embossed on the back. The distinctive hummel chevrons run across the shirt’s shoulders.
The new kit symbolises the perfect combination of tradition and modernity and also practically equips the players for the season ahead: The close-fitting cut and breathable polyester provide the control and coolness required on the pitch. The breathable athletic speed stripes under the arms and on the sides are made from the finest mesh material, providing even better ventilation in the heat of battle and extra flexibility in crucial moments. The player’s kit is completed by a black pair of shorts with contrasting red classic hummel chevrons and red socks.
