Hyderabad FC announces the departure of Souvik Chakrabarti!

Indian Super League champions Hyderabad FC have announced the departure of influential midfielder Souvik Chakrabarti.

31 year old Kolkata-born Souvik Chakrabarti played his part in Hyderabad FC lifting the 2021/22 season ISL trophy.

Souvik Chakrabarti came through the Mohun Bagan Academy and it was at Mohun Bagan where he would make his senior debut.

Souvik Chakrabarti then went on to play for Air India and Prayag United SC before returning to Mohun Bagan. There he would go on to win the I-League title before spending time on loan with Delhi Dynamos. He then went on to play for Jamshedpur FC and Mumbai City FC before joining Hyderabad FC in 2020.

Hyderabad FC in a social media post mentioned, “Souvik Chakrabarti and Hyderabad FC have agreed to part ways mutually.”

“Thank you for everything, Souvik. Here’s wishing the Kolkata-born midfielder the best for his next adventure!”

Though it isn’t official yet, it is expected that Souvik Chakrabarti will join Kolkata giants East Bengal Club.
