Hyderabad FC go down to Kerala Blasters in Reliance Foundation Development League!

Hyderabad FC’s reserve side fell to a 0-2 defeat to Kerala Blasters in their opening clash of the Reliance Foundation Development League at the Nagoa Panchayat Ground in Goa on Saturday, April 16.

Both teams fielded strong sides with Lalbiakhlua Jongte and Ayush Adhikari captaining the two sides on the day. And it was the Kerala Blasters who managed to run out victorious in what was a closely fought contest in Goa.

The hosts opened the scoring 16 minutes into the game as Vincy Barretto showed calm and poise to collect a through ball from deep and round of the keeper to give Kerala an early lead in the game.

But Hyderabad FC did well to create a few chances, with the likes of Rohlupiua, who came close with an instinctive shot and Lalchungnunga Chhangte, who found the back of the net, but was flagged offside.

However, Paogoumang Singson’s unfortunate own goal at the other end gave the Kerala Blasters a 2-0 lead, even before the break.

Coach Shameel made a few changes to freshen things up all throughout the second half as Hyderabad FC managed to pile the pressure on and tested the Blasters goal a fair few times after the restart.

However, they failed to find the back of the net and fell to a 2-0 loss in the first game of the campaign. With plenty of positives to take from the game, the youngsters head into their second game of the Reliance Foundation Development League campaign on Wednesday, April 20 in a 4:30pm kick-off at Benaulim.
