I-League champions Aizawl FC have announced the signing of Romanian attacking midfielder Andrei Ionescu for the upcoming 2017/18 I-League.
29 years Andrei Ionescu is a product of Universitatea Craiova’s youth development program and has been a regular player for them. His talent caught the attention of Dutch Eredivisie giants PSV Eindhoven in 2004, where he spent one season in their PSV Academy.
Andrei Ionescu started his senior career in 2005 by returning to Universitatea Craiova, then in 2008 he joined Romanian giants Steaua Bucuresti with a loan spell at Politehnica Iasi. In 2011 he went on to play for different clubs across the globe, at Royal Antwerp (Belgium), Ferencváros Budapest (Hungary), Naft Al-Janoob (Iraq), FC Eindhoven (Netherlands) and back in Romania for FC Voluntaria.
Now Ionescu joins I-League champions Aizawl FC, who believe in his qualities, amongst others his great passing skills and acceleration goes along with good dribbling attributes besides being a hard-working player.
