I-League (Private) Clubs Association to hold press conference!

The I-League (Private) Clubs Association founded in October 2018 and comprising currently of the seven clubs of Minerva Punjab FC, Chennai City FC, NEROCA FC, Aizawl FC, Gokulam Kerala FC, Real Kashmir FC and Shillong Lajong FC are set to hold a press conference in Kolkata tomorrow.

Missing from the organisation are former NFL/I-League champions Mohun Bagan, East Bengal and Churchill Brothers, who have been approached by the I-League (Private) Clubs Association to join in.

In light of the recent decision by Star Sports/AIFF/FSDL/IMG-Reliance announcing not to broadcast 30 of the remaining matches of the I-League, the I-League clubs had approached AIFF president Praful Patel for an urgent meeting, however they did not get any response.

In order to make their voices heard and in an attempt to mobilise the entire football community to fight the injustice being meted out to the Top Division Football League of the country, the I-League clubs have decided to conduct a joint press conference for their cause.

The campaign started by fans under the hashtag #SaveILeagueSaveIndianFootball has now been adopted by the clubs.

Present will be Ranjit Bajaj (Minerva Punjab FC), V.C. Praveen (Gokulam Kerala FC), Rohit Ramesh (Chennai City FC, Shamim Meraj (Real Kashmir FC), Larsing Ming (Shillong Lajong FC), Robert Royte (Aizawl FC), and Naoba Thangjam (NEROCA FC).
