In good news for Indian football, India junior international Sanjeev Stalin has signed a two year contract with Portuguese Primeira Liga side CD Aves.
Sanjeev Stalin has been training for a while in Portugal before signing on the dotted line today. The initial plan is for Sanjeev Stalin to get match experience with the reserve side of CD Aves and improve to be able to play for the CD Aves first team, who are currently bottom of the Premeira Liga.
The Bangalore-born 19 year old Sanjeev Stalin moved as a youngster to the Chandigarh Football Academy before being spotted by the AIFF to join the AIFF Elite Academy and after initially being part of the reserve team before a key part of the India U-16s and U-17s for the 2016 AFC U-16 Championship and 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
Thereafter Sanjeev played two seasons for the Indian Arrows in the I-League and Super Cup before making the move to Portugal to continue his career in Europe.
The deal has been made possible by the Carmenta football agency which is run by French-born Indian origin Joseph Mohan, who has 2018 FIFA World Cup winner Benjamin Pavard amongst his clients.
