Indian Arrows captain Amarjit Singh extend contract until 2019/20 season!

On a day that the Indian Arrows had to digest the news that its goalkeeper Dheeraj Singh had decided to try his luck in Europe, there still was good news as its captain and midfielder Amarjit Singh Kiyam had decided to extend his contract until the end of the 2019/20 season.

The Manipuri had captained the India U-17 team at the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup at home and now has been given the same task by head coach Luis Norton de Matos at the Indian Arrows.

Amarjit and Dheeraj were the only two Indian Arrows players outside of the on loan Minerva Punjab FC trio of Jeakson Singh, Anwar Ali and Nongdamba Naorem, to have not signed a long-term contract until the end of the 2019/20 season before the 2017/18 I-League started and wanted time, so they decided to sign contracts until December 31, 2017.

While Dheeraj is follow his dream to play abroad, Amarjit is taking a different route by trying to establish himself on the senior Indian football circuit with the Indian Arrows.

Amarjit Singh will be suspended for the next I-League encounter of the Indian Arrows against East Bengal on Tuesday, January 2 after receiving his marching orders for a double booking against the other Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan on Friday, December 29.
