Aberdeen FC last night completed its sixth signing of the January transfer window with the arrival of Dilan Markanday on loan until the end of the season.
The 21-year-old forward, who can play anywhere across the front line, joined Championship side Blackburn Rovers from Tottenham Hotspur on a three-and-a-half-year contract in January 2022.
An energetic player, Dilan rose through the ranks at Tottenham Hotspur featuring regularly for their Under-23s side. He made his senior debut for Spurs in the Europa Conference League clash against Vitesse in October 2021 before securing his move to Ewood Park.
He scored his first goal for Blackburn Rovers in August 2022 in a 4–0 EFL Cup win over Hartlepool United, helping his side reach the fourth round of the competition.
An exciting prospect who will bring another attacking dimension to the team, Dilan will go straight into the squad to face St Mirren at Pittodrie pending international clearance.
