Iran’s FFIRI continues to raise the bar for futsal!

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) began its Futsal Club Development Workshop with the Football Federation of Islamic Republic of Iran (FFIRI) on Monday to further develop the sport in the country.

The five-day workshop’s focus is on the introduction of the Futsal Club Licensing System for The Iranian Futsal Super League as well as club administration, marketing media, security.

“We are pleased to welcome the AFC experts and learn about futsal club licensing. This is an excellent opportunity to develop futsal in this region,” said FFIRI General Secretary Ebrahim Shakouri.

“In order to maintain the standards, we have to put in more effort to develop the game. Let’s take this as a challenge for the futsal clubs in Iran to take their professionalism to the next level,” added Shakouri.

Head of AFC Futsal and Beach Soccer Development Ali Targholizadeh said, “The AFC is ready to assist Iran in the second phase of the futsal development programme which is to develop futsal clubs in the country.”

“Iran are the futsal powerhouse in Asia because of the competency of the experienced hands in its management. I would like to thank Iran for their full cooperation and hospitality.”

Also present at the workshop are the FFIRI Head of Futsal Committee Davood Parhizkari and UEFA Futsal Consultant Fabrizio Di Felice, who explained the best practices for professional management of futsal clubs.

The workshop deliberated on the current state of futsal clubs in Iran and also touched on general outlook, coach education and league operations.
