Mumbai City FC suffered a 0-2 opening day Indian Super League – Season 5 loss to Jamshedpur FC at the Mumbai Football Arena on Tuesday evening.
After chances at both ends, Mario Arques’s header off Carlos Calvo’s pass put Jamshedpur FC into the lead in the 28th minute. Thereafter the Steelmen could have enhanced their lead but Lucian Goian was outstanding at the back for Mumbai City FC to keep the scoreline at 0-1 for the guests.
Jamshedpur FC remained in control at the start of the second session, but the longer the half lasted the more Mumbai City FC got chances to equalise with two goals called offside by the officials from Mohammed Rafique and Modou Sougou.
As Mumbai City FC pressed for the elusive equaliser, while Jamshedpur FC at the other end sealed the game with a counter-attack which saw substitute Pablo Morgado scoring.
