ISL champions Hyderabad FC extend Bartholomew Ogbeche’s contract!

Indian Super League champions Hyderabad FC have extended the contract of Nigerian striker Bartholomew Ogbeche for the 2022/23 season.

37 year old Bartholomew Ogbeche has been a vital force for four different ISL sides since arriving on Indian shores in 2018. It was
first at NorthEast United FC, then Kerala Blasters, Mumbai City FC and then last season at Hyderabad FC, where he always scored 10+ goals.

Bartholomew Ogbeche kicked off his youth career at Lobi Stars in Nigeria and was then signed by Paris Saint-Germain into their youth system before making his first team debut for the French giants in 2001-02 at just 17. An illustrious journey began for Ogbeche, playing in France (Bastia, Metz), the UAE (Al Jazira), Spain (Deportivo Alavés, CF Valladolid, CF Cádiz, Xerez), Greece (Kavala), England (Middlesbrough FC) and the Netherlands (Cambuur, Willem II).

Bartholomew Ogbeche is the highest goalscorer in the history of the Indian Super League with 53 goals so far to his name and last season Barth was the 2021/22 season Golden Boot winner with an impressive 18 goals and one assist to his name.

For Hyderabad FC being able to retain Barth Ogbeche is good news for head coach Manolo Marquez Roca.
