iSportconnect hosts insightful Media & Communications Masterclass!

iSportconnect logoiSportconnect and Adrian Bevington Sports & PR Limited hosted an insightful and engaging Media & Communications Masterclass in London yesterday, September 1.

The event, at Fieldfisher’s offices, saw some of the top executives from the sports media and communications world come to together to discuss the current issues in the industry.

The panellists for the event included Pedro Pinto (UEFA), Scott Crockett (European Tour), Mark Gonnella (Arsenal), Alex Trickett (Twitter), Chris Haynes (ECB), Scott Field (BOA), Markus Hörwick (Bayern Munich),  Jonathan Levy (Clipper Ventures), James Motley (Sky Sports), Alison Kervin (Mail on Sunday) and Rodney Hinds (The Voice).

The panels were expertly moderated by former Club England Managing Director Adrian Bevington and iSportconnect Chairman Michael Cunnah.

The opening section of the event saw Chris Haynes, communications director of the ECB, communications director of Clipper Ventures, Jonathan Levy, Scott Crockett, communications director of the European Tour and BOA communications director, Scott Field, discuss global sports media and communications with moderator Adrian Bevington.

Under the Chatham House Rule, the panelists gave an honest glimpse into balancing traditional and new media, working within different countries and negotiating a busy summer of sport.

The second section of the event, moderated by iSportconnect Chairman Michael Cunnah looked at the evolving sports media landscape.

It featured a panel including James Motley Head of PR at Sky Sports, Global Sports Chair at Twitter, Alex Trickett, Sports Editor at The Mail on Sunday, Alison Kervin and Sports Editor at The Voice, at Rodney Hinds.

It was more focused on social media and modern technology compared with traditional print media and the future of the media industry.

The third and final panel with Mark Gonnella, Communications Director at Arsenal, Markus Hörwick former Communications Director at Bayern Munich and Pedro Pinto, Chief of Communications and Media at UEFA, was moderated by Adrian Bevington.

The panel was focused on the challenges facing communications teams at the elite level of European football.

The attendee list included representatives from the Premier League, UEFA, Chelsea FC, NBA, The FA, BT Sport, NBCUniversal, Team Sky Cycling, ICC, Sky , Arsenal FC , RFU, Manchester City, CNBC, Twitter, Scottish Football Association and many more.
