The Werkself remain true to themselves even away from the BayArena. That applies at least to the new away jersey that outfitters JAKO and Bayer 04 Leverkusen have presented to the public. The red jersey with collar and cuffs in yellow and white partner logos is inspired by the colours of the club’s coat of arms.
Stefan Kießling, executive consultant at Bayer 04 Leverkusen, said, “Together with JAKO, we wanted to design a matching counterpart to the black home kit. So we asked ourselves: What is missing so that the two game kits form a unit that matches the Werkself? We found the answer in the club coat of arms: red is the first club colour and shapes the logo together with the colors white and yellow. The colour of the lettering and the frames, black, can be found in the home jersey.”
Vertical stripes are embossed on the jersey, symbolizing the eleven Werkself players. ‘Werkself’ is printed on the outside of the neck band and ‘Bayer 04’ is printed on the inside. The name of the city is ‘Leverkusen’ embossed on the sleeves.
In coordination with the professionals of the Werkself, JAKO has given the sleeves a higher proportion of elastane compared to the previous season, in order to enable even better mobility in the area of the upper body and shoulders.
