The Men of Steel face Bengaluru FC for their next away game at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium. This fixture marks the end of the first half of the season as both sides will be playing their 10th game of the current Indian Super League season.
Despite putting up a solid performance against ATK Mohun Bagan in their previous fixture, the Men of Steel were unfortunate to have lost the game with a full-time score of 1-0. A goal from the spot in the final moments was the difference between the two teams.
Ahead of the next game, the gaffer opined, “We all have to focus on what we’re going to do this season and in the coming season.”
Previously, the two teams have shared the pitch 10 times in which the Men of Steel (4 wins) have more wins and on 3 occasions the matches have ended as a stalemate. Last season, Jamshedpur FC could not register a victory over Bengaluru FC as one of the games ended in a stalemate while the other was a loss. While the Men of Steel went on to win the League Winner’s shield, the Blues ended their 2021-22 season in the sixth position of the league table.
Fast forward to the 2022-23 season, Bengaluru FC had a dream start to their pre-season as they went on to win the Durand Cup 2022 but haven’t been able to carry forward the same momentum into their season. Bengaluru FC has managed to win only 2 out of the 9 HISL games this season and stands 9th, one position above Jamshedpur FC in the league table.
Jamshedpur FC, on the back of an impressive performance against the Mariners, will be aiming to bring their A-game to the pitch once again, while they face the Blues on Saturday. With the inclusion of Rafael Crivellaro, a revamped Men of Steel squad will seek to register their second victory of the season and build their way up to the top of the table.
