Jamshedpur FC head to the city of Nizams to face Hyderabad FC!

The Men of Steel put forth a solid performance when they faced ATK Mohun Bagan in their previous game at home. The last fixture of the season at the Furnace saw the squads putting up a tough fight against each other as both sides managed to keep the opposition at bay and ended up sharing the spoils in a goalless contest at the end of the night.

Now the Men of Steel gear up for their next challenge away from home as they play against the defending ISL champions Hyderabad FC in their upcoming fixture.

When asked about the upcoming game against the Nizams, the Jamshedpur Gaffer, Aidy Boothroyd quipped, “I’m delighted with the response of the players in the last 8 or 9 games. I think we’re back on an upward curve again.”

In their last meeting at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, the Men of Steel-dominated-game ended with the visitors earning the winning points with a slim lead. Despite the Men of Steel coming through with multiple attempts to score, it was the goal from Mohammad Yasir in the initial minutes of the second half which was the difference between the two sides at the end of the 90 minutes.

Previously, the two sides have shared the pitch on seven occasions out of which the majority have ended in a stalemate. However, Jamshedpur is currently the side with more victories (2 wins) over the other while Hyderabad FC achieved their first-ever win over the Men of Steel in their previous fixture.

Currently, the two clubs are positioned on opposite ends of the league table. While Jamshedpur FC sits on the 10th position with 13 points, the current title holders, Hyderabad FC are placed on the 2nd position with 39 points. The Nizams have also earned their spot in the playoffs in their second consecutive season under the tutelage of Manuel Marquez who also led the team to the club’s first silverware, the ISL trophy.

For their previous game, both teams faced the Mariners and while Jamshedpur shared the spoils at the end of their final game at home, the Hyderabad side held back the ATK Mohun Bagan from grabbing any points as they walked out with a narrow win.

As the league stage of the ISL season 2022-23 nears its end, the Jamshedpur squad will aim to keep putting their best foot forward to produce strong performance in this clash as well as the final game of the season to end the season on a high note. On the other hand, Hyderabad FC will seek to end their league stage with positive results to carry forward the same momentum in their playoffs fixtures and turn their complete focus on defending the ISL trophy.

Watch Jamshedpur FC face Hyderabad FC at the G.M.C Balayogi Athletic Stadium on February 18 at 5:30pm.
