Jamshedpur FC host FC Goa at the Furnace for their final game of the year!

“I think we can overcome the current situation and get back to winning ways”, opined head coach, Aidy Boothroyd in the pre-match press conference before their upcoming home game against FC Goa.

After an unfortunate loss in their previous game at Bengaluru FC, the Men of Steel make their way back home to host FC Goa at the JRD Tata Sports Complex next.

As both squads prepare to go to battle for the second time this season, this game will also mark the beginning of the latter half of the 2022-23 edition of the ISL.

Another match week ended in an undesired manner for Jamshedpur FC as they lost to Bengaluru FC in their previous outing. The Blues maintained a goal lead till the full-time whistle that they earned in the opening minutes of the game.

Despite creating numerous chances in the attacking third, the Men of Steel were unable to get back in the game and churn out any points from the fixture.

On the upcoming home game, the Gaffer stated, “our players are coming back from injury and we have some youngsters doing very well in the training. Thus we hope to do well in this match”.

Previously, the two sides have faced each other 11 times out of which six games saw the Guars being the victorious while only one of them has ended with both sharing the points.

In the previous season, Jamshedpur FC pulled off wins in both the scheduled fixtures between the two. Unfortunately, this time around when the squads battled it out in their first meeting, the FC Goa squad took complete control over the pitch as they slipped three goals past the Jamshedpur defence. At the same time, they kept the Men of Steel attacking line at bay and denied them every opportunity at finding the back of the net.

Currently, Jamshedpur FC are on the 10th position with four points while FC Goa finds themselves on the sixth spot with 18 points at the end of the first half of this season.

As the two squads get ready to kick off match week 12, the Jamshedpur FC side will seek to avenge their last defeat against FC Goa. With the team looking more balanced after a few tactical changes to the starting line-up, the Men of Steel will do everything in their power to produce a victorious night at the Furnace.

A win in the next game would also be of great significance to the Red Miners as they play their final game of the year in front of the home crowd. With the aim of grabbing the winning against the Gaurs, the Jamshedpur FC squad will put their best foot forward to start off their second half of the season on a positive note.
