Jamshedpur FC set to kick-off their pre-season training ahead of ISL-8!

The 2021/22 Indian Super League is scheduled to begin on November 19 with the club playing its first match vs SC East Bengal on November 21.

The team is scheduled to arrive in Goa on Thursday, September 30 onwards and the players and staff will follow the eight-day quarantine protocol set as per the Health and Safety guidelines of the league. The mandatory quarantine is evenly applicable to all Indians and foreigners alike. To maintain safety and follow the precautionary measures, the members of all clubs will be in a complete bio-bubble environment throughout the season as followed in the previous season as well.

THE STAY

The team will be accommodated at the Cidade de Goa – IHCL SeleQtions in Panaji, Goa in a fully secured bio-bubble environment. Designed as a Portuguese hamlet (a small village) with a Mediterranean influence by world-renowned architect, Charles Correa, Cidade de Goa will provide top-notch facilities to the players and staff to help contribute with optimum performances.

The location of the hotel is ideal with the time taken to travel between the hotel from the practice ground as well as the home stadium being 15 to 20 minutes on a usual day.

PRACTICE GROUND & PRE-SEASON

The team will be making use of the Don Bosco training ground located in Panaji for their pre-season training which is also the pitch where Jamshedpur FC played one of their friendly matches against FC Goa last season. This is also where Sporting Club de Goa and the Indian U-17 Women’s team have trained before.

The pre-season will last six weeks leading up to the first match versus the Red and Gold Brigade at the Tilak Maidan. The pre-season will include every player’s fitness examinations, physical sessions, training sessions and practice matches to prepare and achieve the optimal fitness required for the games to be played in the season.

THE HOME GROUND

Jamshedpur FC will be playing its home matches at the GMC Athletic Bambolim Stadium this season; it will be shared with three other teams – FC Goa, Hyderabad FC and Bengaluru FC. The stadium was assigned based on positions achieved in the points table in ISL 2020-21. The Men of Steel didn’t lose a single match at the venue, playing four matches, with two wins and two draws.

With some stellar signings and keeping the core of the team intact, Jamshedpur FC head coach Owen Coyle and the players are confident going into the season.
