Indian Super League franchise Jamshedpur FC have announced the signing of Augustin Fernandes to their ISL first-team squad. The defender has been training with the squad since the past few weeks and is now in contention to be in the squad for the clash against FC Goa on January 28.
Augustin began his footballing career at Sesa Football Academy in Goa. He made his senior debut for Salgaocar FC in 2011 where he helped the side in winning the I-League in his first full season with the club and the Federation Cup in the same season.
Augustin got a taste of the Indian Super League in 2015 where ATK took him on board in the draft. Next season, the Goan defender joined FC Pune City in which he made 4 appearances for the Stallions. The centre back was again signed by ATK in 2017 but was released by the club in January, last year.
Augustin will bring a ton of experience with him to the table for Jamshedpur FC for the remainder of the 2018/19 season. His ball-playing skills and innate positioning sense are expected to shore up the Jamshedpur FC backline as they get ready to battle it out for a spot in the top four.
