Jamshedpur FC suffer 1-4 loss to Odisha FC!

Odisha FC secured a 4-1 victory over Jamshedpur FC in an action-packed game at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Friday, December 29.

Both teams came into the game at the back of important victories in the ISL. Jamshedpur FC, who travelled away to Hyderabadr FC and secured a 5-0 win, were brimming with confidence and took the lead in the 23rd minute through Rei Tachikawa. The Japanese midfielder made no error as he pounced upon a heavy touch off Odishar FC’s defender Jerry and scored from outside the box for the second time this season.

However, Jamshedpurr FC’s joy was short-lived as Odisha FC equalized almost immediately through Isak Vanlalruatfela. That opened the flood gates and Odisha FC scored three more in the final ten minutes of the first half through two goals from Roy Krishna and a penalty from Diego Mauricio.

Scott Cooper made some key changes to the lineup in the second half as he brought on fresh legs in the form of Len Doungel, Naorem, Germanpreet and Uvais. The changes helped Jamshedpur FC edge Odisha FC in terms of attacking prowess, however the second half was shy off any goals despite Jamshedpur FC’s relentless attempts with the full-time score reading 4-1 in favour of the Kalinga Warriors.

The loss means Jamshedpur FC sit at 10th place with 9 points ahead of the Kalinga Super Cup scheduled to be played in January. Jamshedpur FC’s first opponent would be NorthEast United FC on January 10 at the same venue, Kalinga Stadium.
