Jamshedpur FC want to stop Mumbai City FC’s ISL-7 run!

Jamshedpur FC have set their focus on the next ISL-7 fixture where they will be facing Mumbai City FC on Monday night. Previously, both the teams have gone head-to-head for a total of six times, and everytime it has been an exhilarating contest. The games have always seen the highest level of competitiveness be it on the Jamshedpur soil or on the Mumbai turf.

Both the teams faced each other for the first time in the 2017-18 season of ISL and the first clash ended in a draw. The second clash took place a month later in the same season where Jamshedpur FC made sure they made the match count; they won the game with 2 goals to 1 and set their first victory in the records against Mumbai City FC. The teams met yet again in the next season of the ISL going head-to-head twice. Jamshedpur FC took the winning lead further ahead as they managed to win both the games while also not conceding any goals; the first match saw them score 2 goals and the second match ended with them scoring 1 goal. After upgrading the squad and making several changes to the team’s style of play, Mumbai City FC aimed at catching up to the win record and managed to make an impactful comeback as they won both the fixtures that were scheduled for the 2019-20 season; they dominated the two games and kept the pressure high on Jamshedpur.

Mumbai City FC are currently at the top of their game; they are leading the league table with 12 points (5 games, 1 loss and 4 wins). Jamshedpur FC, on the other hand, are currently placed seventh with six points (5 games, 1 win, 1 loss and 3 draws). This season also saw some of the best signings on both sides – Adam Le Fondre, Hugo Boumous, Mourtada Fall to name a few in Mumbai City FC, and Nerka Valskis, Peter Hartley, Stephen Eze, Alex Lima in Jamshedpur FC along with many others. Both the teams have also seen some of the best most consistent performers this season so one can’t help but expect maximum competitiveness out of this fixture.

While Jamshedpur FC head coach Owen Coyle and his men will be pushing and fighting harder than ever to break the winning cycle set into motion by the Islanders and bag the three valuable points, the league toppers will be aiming to maintain the top position by denying Jamshedpur any opportunity to change their course.

Jamshedpur FC will be facing Mumbai City FC at GMC Stadium in Bambolim on Monday night. Tune-in to Hotstar and Star Sports Network at 7.30pm IST for the live telecast.
