Jamshedpur FC wants momentum going against SC East Bengal!

After an electrifying contest and a much-needed win against ATK Mohun Bagan, Jamshedpur FC are all set for their next challenge against SC East Bengal tonight.

Interestingly, SC East Bengal are also one of the oldest clubs in India and Asia. They have completed 100 years in August this year. The club, after earning multiple trophies, titles and recognition in the national leagues, decided to switch to the Indian Super League.

SC East Bengal did not have an impressive start to their campaign. Having played three matches in the season so far (ATK Mohun Bagan, Mumbai City FC, NorthEast United FC), the club has lost all of the games, pushing them to the bottom of the league table. On the other hand, Jamshedpur FC have had a mixture of results in their first few fixtures having lost one match against Chennaiyin FC, drawing two of the games (Odisha FC and Hyderabad FC) and winning their last fixture by beating ATK Mohun Bagan; Jamshedpur is now seventh in the league standings.

Since SC East Bengal made their debut this year, both the teams have never gone head-to-head. The Kolkata based club will be hosting Jamshedpur who will be playing their second away fixture of the season. With an extra game in hand, SC East Bengal will be fighting hard to acquire their first win of the season and climb their way up the table. Jamshedpur FC on the other hand will be looking to double their win record and try to keep up their victory run in the league.

Both the teams harbour some very skillful and experienced players like Nerka, William Lalnunfela, Aitor Monroy, Ricky, Mobashir and more in Jamshedpur FC and Narayan Das, Jeje Lalpekhlua, Daniel Fox, Jacques Maghoma and more in SC East Bengal.

With a strong defensive structure and a tactical set of attacking forwards and midfielders on both sides, it will surely be an intriguing contest as they battle it out for the first time. As Head Coach Owen Coyle says, “We have to be on our guard as they are very dangerous opponents.”

Jamshedpur FC will be facing SC East Bengal tonight at Tilak Maidan. Tune-in to Hotstar and Star Sports Network at 7.30pm IST for the live telecast.
