Jamshedpur Golden Baby League continues with exciting encounters!

Teams from Jamshedpur Public School (JPS) and DAV school were involved in arguably the most exciting match of the day at the Jamshedpur Golden Baby League, as they drew 4-4 and scored many goals in Week 26 of the tournament at JRD Tata Sports Complex.

The teams were participating in the U9 age category of the Baby League and performed exceptionally well in front of goal, highlighting the improvement in students during the last 26 weeks of the tournament.

The second edition of the Jamshedpur Golden Baby League 2023, hosted by Jamshedpur FC in conjunction with Jharkhand Football Association (JFA), Jharkhand Sporting Association (JSA), and backed by Reliance Foundation has been divided into U-5, U-7, U-9, U-11 and U-13 categories for the benefit of kids across the city.

The 10-month long tournament is held every Sunday morning at the Archery Ground at JRD Tata Sports Complex, and has now expanded to TFA to incorporate the growing number of students. The plan is to nurture development and add to the existing grassroots schools program run by Jamshedpur FC during the week after school hours.

Since the addition of TFA as another venue for the Baby League, numbers have significantly increased for the entire tournament, with this week’s attendance again displaying the popularity of the Baby League.

A total of 1,200 students turned up this Sunday, and this is among the highest numbers witnessed at the Baby League. As many as 109 students participated in the U-5s, 148 students in the U-7s, 197 students in the U-9s, 200 students in the U-11s, and 546 in the U-13s.

The U-5s, U-7s, U-9s and U-11s played 14 matches each, while 28 matches were played by the U-13s to get the teenagers up to speed with the rest of the age categories.

The Baby League will now continue to be played at both the Archery ground at JRD Tata Sports Complex as well as TFA with the possibility of more venues being added in the future.
