Keeper Mathieu Patouillet signs his first pro Olympique Lyon contract!

Olympique Lyonnais have announced the signing of the first professional contract of their goalkeeper Mathieu Patouillet, for three seasons, until June 30, 2026.

Born in 2004, Mathieu Patouillet, who joined OL four years ago, stood out by playing 14 matches in National 2 this season under the guidance of his coach Olivier Blondel.

A starter and a key player in Lyon’s Gambardella Cup victory last year, the former DOMTAC player, who also trains with the professional goalkeepers’ department led by Rémy Vercoutre, had signed his first trainee contract in January 2022.

Called up three times to the French U-19 team, the Olympique Lyonnais goalkeeper also won the Mediterranean Games with the U-18 French team in 2022.

The signing of Mathieu Patouillet confirms the excellent work done by the entire club at this position since today all professional goalkeepers (Lopes, Riou, Bonnevie, Bengui, and Patouillet) have been trained at Olympique Lyonnais.

Mathieu Patouillet said, “This signing is an additional step. It was important for me and my family to sign professionally here at OL. I am extremely grateful to the club. Now, it’s just a step. I have to continue working to be even more efficient in training and in matches.”
