Key Details of Chennaiyin FC ISL 2020-21 fixtures!

The Indian Super League 2020-21 fixture schedule till January 11, 2021 was released on Friday, October 30. Two-time champions Chennaiyin FC will play their season opener against Jamshedpur FC on Tuesday, November 24 in an away game at the Tilak Maidan, the latter’s designated home ground.

There will be familiar faces in the opponent camp on opening day for Chennaiyin FC, as they come up against a Jamshedpur FC side with previous head coach Owen Coyle at the helm, along with former players Nerijus Valskis and Laldinliana Renthlei in their ranks. At the same time, new Chennaiyin FC signing Memo Moura comes up against his former employers, having spent the past three seasons at Jamshedpur FC.

Chennaiyin FC supporters will particularly be looking forward to the two games following the opener, when they face southern rivals Kerala Blasters FC and Bengaluru FC in back-to-back home games at the GMC Stadium in Bambolim on Sunday, November 29 and Friday, December 4, respectively.

Subsequently, consecutive away games against Mumbai City FC on Wednesday, December 9 and NorthEast United FC on Sunday, December 13 follow, with the latter being an early kick off at 5pm.

Games against FC Goa have been quite eventful over the years, especially with the hotly contested semifinal last season. Chennaiyin FC travel to the Fatorda Stadium to take on FC Goa on Saturday, December 19.

Chennaiyin FC then take on the two Kolkata clubs – SC East Bengal away and ATK Mohun Bagan at home – three days apart on Saturday, December 26 and Tuesday, December 29, respectively.

Chennaiyin FC’s first opponents in the new year will be Hyderabad FC at home on Monday, January 4. And of the fixture schedule released so far, Chennaiyin FC’s last game will be against Odisha FC on January 10 in a 5pm kick off.

The remainder of the fixtures will be released at a later date by the ISL, once the AFC schedule and fixtures are finalized for 2021.
