Kickstart FC hits five past Celtic Queens FC in IWL!

In their fifth group stage match of the IWL, Kickstart FC beat Celtic Queens FC by scoring five goals. The match took place in Ahmedabad, and Kickstart FC’s goals came from Kioko Elizabeth, Devneta Roy, Bibicha Devi, Renuka Nagarkote, and Saru Limbu.

Before the match, Kickstart FC’s coach, Langam Chaoba Devi, made one change to the line-up, bringing back Devneta Roy instead of Anita Kumari.

Kickstart FC started the match with the same intensity they had shown in their previous match against Lords FA. Their efforts paid off with two quick goals in the 33rd and 35th minute of the first half. The goals came from Kioko Elizabeth and Devneta Roy after Kaviya sent in a cross from the flanks, which Kioko Elizabeth converted, and Saru Limbu sent in a through ball to Devneta Roy, who slotted it home. Before halftime, Bibicha Devi scored another goal, with a precise pass from overlapping Papki Devi.

In the second half, Kickstart FC made three substitutions – Nepali International Renuka Nagarkote replaced Kioko Elizabeth, Sarita Yumnam replaced Dalima Chhibber, and Sonia Marak replaced Devneta Roy. The substitutions brought some fresh impetus to Kickstart FC. After some splendid exchanges in the middle of the park, Astam Oraon laid off a perfect pass for the substitute Renuka Nagarkote, who scored an excellent long-range goal to extend the lead to 4-0 in the 52nd minute. In the 66th minute, the two Nepali internationals Renuka and Saru Limbu combined to score the fifth goal of the day.

Astram Oraon of Kickstart FC was named the Hero of the Match for her outstanding performance.

Kickstart FC will take on Sethu FC of Madurai on May 10 at 4:30pm.
