LAFC’s Kellyn Acosta & renowned LA artist Mister Cartoon headline in MLS The Jersey Swap!

Major League Soccer (MLS) have announced the second content feature of The Jersey Swap, new multi-part features celebrating the intersection of culture and soccer premiering across all League channels. The second spotlight features Los Angeles FC and U.S. Men’s National Team midfielder Kellyn Acosta swapping jerseys with renowned Los Angeles artist Mister Cartoon. Each segment highlights local icons and their connection to their MLS club.

As part of the soccer culture, players swap jerseys at the end of the match as a symbol of mutual respect. The custom pieces center around change agents, influencers, and soccer stars, introducing their own version of the jersey swap tradition.

Mister Cartoon is an ambassador for Los Angeles style. Acosta and Mister Cartoon discuss their shared passion for style as a vehicle for storytelling and self-expression — and how soccer, just like art, is a vessel for cultural connection all around the world. The custom feature will run across MLS owned and operated channels as well as other third-party channels.

“Mister Cartoon is a global icon and true culture creator, and it was a privilege to spend time in his space swapping stories and jerseys and connecting over our love of sport, lifestyle, fashion and family,” said Kellyn Acosta.

“To appreciate the MLS and the soccer world you have to go to a LAFC game, it was a great experience getting to chop it up with Kellyn Acosta, one of stars of our LAFC, about life fashion culture and the game that he has mastered,” said Mister Cartoon.

The Jersey Swap debuted in August with its first feature starring multiplatinum musician and D.C. United owner Yo Gotti, and Washington, D.C. native and Grammy nominated musician Wale reflecting on music, hometowns, and soccer’s stature.

The Jersey Swap is produced by Cornerstone agency, MLS’ creative agency of record.
