LALIGA & Alianza Lima join forces to develop & professionalise Peruvian youth categories!

LALIGA and Alianza Lima have announced a long-term partnership focusing on both technical and sporting areas, through a programme that will contribute to the professionalisation of the youth categories at the Blanquiazules. Its objective is clear: to improve every stage of development and support young Peruvian talent.

This project addresses the need to create a sporting structure capable of helping the progress of the country’s emerging young talent. To ensure this, we will work using the LALIGA methodology, as well as utilising the knowledge and success gained by the Spanish clubs’ youth academies, both in LALIGA EA Sports and LALIGA Hypermotion.

“LALIGA remains committed to developing international football and young talent at a global level. We are very pleased to partner with Alianza Lima, a club with a top-level professional structure and a clear commitment to youth development. We believe that working together is the best way to develop its youth categories and help it grow as a club,” said Rodrigo Gallego, LALIGA delegate in Peru.

“Spain has shown that it’s one of the best countries in the world for nurturing football talent, and Alianza Lima wants to become a reference point for youth development not only in Peru, but also in Latin America as a whole. As such, working alongside LALIGA is a huge opportunity for the growth of the club. We are thrilled and excited about the potential impact this partnership will have on the organisation,” stated José Bellina, Director of Sports Development at Alianza Lima.

The 18-month project aims to build solid foundations that will allow the Blanquiazules to transform and nurture the best aspects of its youth academy. To ensure its success, a LALIGA technical director, holding a UEFA Pro licence and with experience working in LALIGA clubs’ youth academies, will oversee the development process and work on its implementation alongside José Bellina.

This strategic partnership will consist of two stages: in the first phase, a specific methodology will be designed for Alianza Lima; while in the second phase, workshops, plus online and offline training courses will be offered to the club’s staff with a focus on developing the youth academy. This will guarantee the exchange of knowledge between the two organisations and fulfilment of the project’s objectives.
