LaLiga and the embassy of Brazil condemn racism!

In a meeting held this morning in Madrid, the Brazilian Ambassador to Spain Orlando Leite Ribeiro and LaLiga President Javier Tebas Medrano agreed that there is no place in today’s world for racist acts such as those that occurred on May 21st in Valencia, directed against Brazilian player Vinicius Júnior.

The Brazilian Embassy and LaLiga strongly condemn any racist behaviour and pledge to continue fighting against this scourge that affects sport and damages the image of Spain, a welcoming country where athletes of all origins, creeds and ethnic backgrounds can thrive.

It is now important that the relevant institutions act to identify and punish offenders in an appropriate manner, sending a clear message that racist and xenophobic behaviour will not be tolerated.
