LGCs and LMOs gain valuable insights ahead of 2020 AFC season!

131 Local General Coordinators (LGC) and Local Media Officers (LMO) gained valuable insights ahead of the 2020 season at the AFC LGC & LMO Seminar that concluded on Friday.

The expanded list of participants included LGCs and LMOs from other competitions to ensure the seminar was more inclusive and that more Member Associations could benefit from the two-day event,

AFC Head of Competitions Strategy Pavel Luzanov, who opened the seminar, said, “The last 12 months have been both busy and rewarding for club football in Asia.”

“As you know, the AFC’s ambition is to grow our top-class competitions for our players, teams and of course, the fans.”

“And each year, we begin our club season with one single mission: to improve and to build on the strong momentum from the last season. We have a responsibility to continue this tradition.”

“As LGCs and LMOs, you all play an important role in ensuring the highest standards of organisation. We rely on all of you here to show the quality of Asia’s competitions to the world. And to achieve this, knowledge and teamwork are vital, which is why we have combined the workshop – to reinforce the importance of working together to ensure quality at all levels.”

The officers were given an introduction to the various tournaments organised by the AFC and more importantly, their roles and responsibilities when on duty, before diving into the details of pre and post-match activities.

With fans filling stadiums across the Continent on matchdays, greater emphasis has been placed on ensuring their safety and the participants were presented with guidelines to help them assess risks to ensure safety.

The seminar ended with a review of several case studies to help the officers further incorporate what they had learned into real life scenarios.
