Line-up compete for CAF Confederation Cup semifinals!

The four clubs to compete in the 2023/24 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup Semifinals were officially confirmed on Sunday evening after the second leg of the Quarterfinals concluded in dramatic fashion.

Reigning champions, USM Alger (Algeria) headline the four clubs to contest a place in the finals which also include former champions RS Berkane (Morocco), Zamalek (Egypt) and debutants, Dreams FC (Ghana) who will be looking at making history in their very first season in the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.

Dreams were the first to secure a place in the last four after overcoming former champions, Stade Malien in Kumasi thanks to a 3-2 aggregate victory.

Egyptian powerhouse, Zamalek SC, had to dig deep against a spirited Modern Future FC in Cairo, as they edged their Egyptian counterparts in a closely contested encounter to advance to the next stage of the competition.

After holding Abu Salim to a goalless draw in the first leg, two-time champions RS Berkane emerged victorious in a five-goal thriller to advance 3-2 in a closely contested tie in Morocco, while defending champions, USM Alger, cruised into the semifinals with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Nigeria’s Rivers United as they remain on course to defend their title.

The first semifinal duels will see 2019 champions Zamalek SC taking on Dreams FC in Cairo, while defending champions USM Alger welcome RS Berkane to Algeria.

CAF will announce the dates and kick-off times in due course.
