Lirim Jashari moves to VfL Bochum Talentwerk!

The talent factory of VfL Bochum 1848 has signed the next promising young player. 17-year-old Lirim Jashari comes from Alemannia Aachen’s U19s and will join the Talentwerk in the summer of 2024. From the new season, the Kosovar attacking midfielder will wear the blue and white jersey for the U19s.

Lirim Jashari’s football career began at a young age. Born in Bergisch Gladbach, he learned to play football in the youth of SSV Jan Wellem 05 and then moved to SV Bergisch Gladbach 09. There he progressed through the youth teams and in 2022 moved to FC Hennef 05 in the U17 Bundesliga West after seven years. There, the two-footed striker showed his talent, scoring a total of seven goals in 15 games in the 22/23 season.

With his strong performances, he aroused the interest of other clubs and attracted the attention of this year’s A-Junioren-Bundesliga-West promoted Alemannia Aachen. Thus, Jashari moved to the U19s of Aachen after the season at FC Hennef 05 to take the next step in his career. There, he continued to develop in the U19 Bundesliga West and, as a 1.73 metre tall attacking player, is an integral part of the first eleven this season. At just 17 years old, he is one of the league’s top scorers with nine goals and four assists. Due to his strong performances, Jashari was allowed to make his debut for the Kosovo U19 national team against Malta in November last year, where he was also in the starting eleven. In addition, he is currently playing with the Kosovo U19s in the European Championship qualifiers in Slovenia and won the first game 1-0 against Austria yesterday.

Jashari, who is still part of the younger generation, will be able to develop further at VfL Bochum 1848’s talent centre from next season onwards and take the next steps in his career. The Performance Centre is pleased to welcome a highly talented young player who will directly enrich the U19s.

David Siebers, Head of Squad Planning from U13 to U19 at Talentwerk, is very much looking forward to the new attacking midfielder: “With Lirim, we are getting a player who has gradually improved at his clubs in recent years and is moving to a youth academy for the first time with us. There is still a lot of potential that he wants to exploit with us. Throughout, he was able to draw attention to himself with his goal threat and his style of play. He’s a perfect fit for our style of play.”

“First of all, I’m very happy about the move to Talentwerk. VfL Bochum stands for a great and professional education. This is where I want to develop further and take the next step in my career. I’m very proud to be able to wear the blue and white jersey from the summer and to play for VfL from next season,” said new signing Lirim Jashari.
