Los Angeles FC tops Juniors Tampico to win U-13 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League!

Los Angeles FC of the United States is the champion of the 2018 Under-13 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League after defeating Juniors Tampico 2-0 in the final on Wednesday in Toluca, Mexico.

Dylan Presto was the hero on the day for the Californians, as his goals in the 12th and 26th minutes paced Los Angeles FC to victory.

Los Angeles FC becomes the first team from the U.S. to win the Under-13 SCCL, and joins Mexican sides Toluca (2015) and Universidad Cantera Norte (2017) and Salvadoran club Santa Ana (2016) in the list of champions.

There were plenty of fireworks in Wednesday’s other contests as well. CD Plaza Amador of Panama returned to its goalscoring ways with an impressive 7-0 triumph over the Montreal Impact in the third-place match.

Rafael Antonio Mosquera Diaz scored a hat trick and Diego Andres Julio Arosemena bagged a brace to help Plaza Amador finish the Under-13 SCCL with 23 goals scored.

Santa Ana of El Salvador delivered another top performance in the Shield Tournament and claimed top honors in that division after a 3-1 win over Cantera Yucatan of Mexico.

There was another seven-goal outburst on the day, this time in the Shield Tournament’s third-place match as Alajuelense of Costa Rica downed Olimpia of Honduras 7-0. Juan Pablo Ledezma Porras’s brace led the way for the Ticos.
