After loss Zo United FC relegated from Mizoram Premier League-5!

mpl-zo-united-fc-bethlehem-vengthlang-fcFriday night’s action saw second placed Bethlehem Vengthlang FC come up against bottom side Zo United FC, whose only hope would be a victory against their opponents which would see them go up a place into the relegation play-off.

Both teams began brightly but it was Zo United that buckled under pressure early on. BVT FC’s striker Lalnunmawia sent Lalhlima’s through ball past the onrushing goalkeeper to give his side the lead.

A determind Zo United had chances to strike back but saw efforts from Mala and skipper Lalmama come close. BVT also came close again through goalscorer Mawitea.

The second half saw a resurgent Zo United find the equaliser in the 53rd minute. Set-piece specialist Mala dropped a perfect ball between BTV’s backline and found Malsawmdawnga who nodded in with ease.

Intense back and forth action followed as both teams pushed for a winner. P.C. Zosanga found the net for BVT FC after an unselfish play from P.C. Laldinpuia.

Then it was Zo United’s turn again when H. Malsawmtluanga pounced on a rebound from a thunderous effort by captain Lalmama.

But it was BVT FC who had the last laugh as former Zo United player P.C. Laldinpuia found the net on the 87th minute. The Man of the Match winner for the fixture was on the receiving end of a Dina Varte cross and gave his side three points to go top of the league.
