Macron named official Match Ball partner of African Football League 2023!

The links between African football and Macron are getting stronger. Starting this year, Macron will be Official Ball Partner to the African Football League. The new competition, supported by FIFA and CAF, will kick off for the first time today, October 20, with Simba SC and Al Ahly SC set to kick off at 6 pm at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The African Football League will see the top club’s of the African continent competing on a yearly basis and, under the new agreement, Macron will supply the official balls for 2023, the first edition since the competition was organised. Macron will be providing all participating clubs with a top-quality, high-tech accessory that is certified by FIFA and that guarantees excellent performance.

The African Football League was established in 2021 as a result of collaboration between CAF and FIFA aimed at promoting African football globally. Only 8 clubs will take part in the competition’s first edition this year, but this number will grow to 24 for the 2024-25 season. The 8 top clubs that will meet in October and November are: Al Ahly Football Club (Egypt), Espérance Sportive de Tunis (Tunisia), Wydad Athletic Club (Morocco), Enyimba Football Club (Nigeria), Tout Puissant Mazembe (Democratic Republic of Congo), Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club (South Africa), Atlético Petróleos de Luanda (Angola) and Simba Sports Club (Tanzania).

“We are delighted to partner such an important event for the development of African football,” declared Gianluca Pavanello, Macron CEO. This tournament brings together the very best teams on the continent and will provide a great opportunity to prove the quality of the Macron products that many African clubs and federations have been using for a long time. In this case, the Macron Hero will be appearing on one of the most important elements in any match: the ball! This new tournament is only going to get better, and very soon will be a new point of reference for African football. That’s why we are so happy to support it in its first edition.”
