Mizoram Premier League: Aizawl FC score five past Bethlehem Vengthlang FC, move into second place!

Aizawl FC continued their rich vein of form in the second half of the season with a fine 5-1 victory over Bethlehem Vengthlang FC in round 10 of the Mizoram Premier League.

The I-League champions enjoyed possession and created chances from the off. William Lalnunfela, Lalmuankima and Andrei Ionescu all had chances to break the deadlock. They took the lead in the 17th minute when Lalmuankima finished off a chance created by Ionescu.

Bethlehem Vengthlang FC showed their determination and won a penalty just three minutes later. Lalnuntluanga duly dispatched the spot kick to draw his side level.

But Aizawl FC quickly retook the lead with a fine freekick from David Lalrinmuana and added a third 10 minutes later when Afghan defender Masih Saighani headed in a corner from David.

Aizawl FC continued their relentless pressure in the second half and scored their fourth through Rochharzela in the 70th minute.

They grabbed their fifth two minutes from time as David Lalrinmuana grabbed his second of the day in a man of the match performance.
